Make a difference. Be the difference.
Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children, Inc. office is located in Batesville, Indiana. We serve children throughout all of Ripley County. Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children, Inc. is a member of the National CASA Association and the Indiana GAL/CASA network.
Each year in our county, over 150 abused and/or neglected children face the future without a home to call their own. These children are often placed in some form of foster care, whether it is with a foster family or a group home placement. However, many of these children, who have been proven to be abused and/or neglected, are left in their homes where the abuse occurred. These children have done nothing wrong, but are simply victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. As reports of abuse and neglect crowd court dockets, more and more children are thrust into the confusing maze of the system. That’s where we step in. We advocate for every child ensuring their voice is heard and their best interest is a priority.
Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children, Inc. is helping to make a difference through the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer program. These volunteers are recruited and trained to advocate for children’s best interests inside and outside the courtroom. They work with attorneys, mental health professionals, services providers, and the Department of Child Services to meet the need of these children and help them find safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible.
