Melissa Herzner

Melissa Herzner has always had a passion for children and their best interests.  She started volunteering with CASA of The Heartland in Kentucky in 2014 while her husband served in the military. After her husband retired from the military, they relocated closer to family in Guilford, Indiana. Melissa became a volunteer for SEI Voices for Children Inc. in July 2018 to continue advocating for children.  She seized the opportunity to pursue her passion for child advocacy by accepting a Volunteer Coordinator position in Ripley County in October 2018. Melissa managed up to 30 CASA volunteers and served as a Court Advocate on her cases. In 2021, Melissa grabbed hold of the opportunity and accepted the role of Executive Director.

Melissa currently serves with the State of Indiana (CSBP) Certification, Standards, and Best Practices Committee, Ripley County (AEP) Attend and Engage Program, Ripley County (JDAI) Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative, Batesville Drug Coalition, Ripley County  (CPT) Child Protection Team and National CASA Rural Leadership Council.
